Privacy policy
Last updated November 3, 2026
This policy explains what Central Michigan Printing Company (“we” or “us”) collects when you use cmiprint.co, design something, request a quote or place an order. It covers why we need that information and the choices you have. The short version: we use your information to make and deliver your prints, we share it only with the companies that help us do that, and we never sell it.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the store:
- Account details. Your name and email, plus your phone number and company if you add them. Your password is stored only as a one-way scrambled hash that no one, including our staff, can read.
- Order details. Shipping and billing addresses, a phone number for the carrier, what you ordered, any notes you add, and your order history.
- Your artwork. Files you upload, designs you create in our online designer, images you generate with our AI artwork tool, and designs you bring in from Canva.
- Quote requests. Your name, company, email, phone, project details and any files you attach.
- Payment confirmation. Card payments are handled by Stripe on its own secure page. We receive a payment reference and the amount paid, never your full card number.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our server keeps logs with your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We use them to keep the site secure and to fix problems.
We don’t use advertising trackers, and we don’t use third-party analytics. If that ever changes, we’ll update this policy first.
2. How we use your information
- To print, ship and support your orders, including checking your files before they print.
- To email you about your orders and account, such as confirmations, shipping updates and password resets.
- To answer your quote requests and questions.
- To run your account: saved designs, saved addresses, order history and reorders.
- To prevent fraud and abuse and keep the site secure.
- To keep the business and tax records the law requires.
Order and account emails are part of the service. We send marketing emails only to people who ask for them, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
3. Your artwork
Your designs and files belong to you. We use them only to produce your orders, to show them to you in your account so you can reorder, and to send them to the print partner making your order. We don’t use your artwork in our marketing or to train AI systems without your written permission.
6. How long we keep it
- Account information stays while your account is open. You can ask us to close it at any time.
- Orders and invoices are kept for seven years, because tax and accounting rules require it.
- Artwork on past orders is kept so you can reorder it, until you ask us to remove it.
- Designs and uploads made without an account are kept so you can come back to them. Email us if you want them removed.
We keep secure backups so we can recover from mistakes. Information you remove can stay in those backups for a while afterward, and we use backups only to restore the site.
7. Your choices and rights
- See and update your name, phone, company, password and saved addresses at any time in your account.
- Disconnect Canva from your account on your profile page.
- Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct it or delete it. We’ll delete everything we aren’t required to keep, such as order records needed for taxes.
To make a request, email us from the address on your account. We may need to confirm it’s you before we act, and we’ll respond within 30 days. Some states give their residents specific privacy rights. We honor these requests for every customer, wherever you live, and we won’t treat you differently for making one.
8. How we protect it
The whole site uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, connected Canva accounts are stored encrypted, and only our staff can open the back office, each with their own sign-in. Card details go straight to Stripe, which is certified to the payment industry’s highest security level (PCI DSS Level 1). No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your information, we’ll tell you as the law requires.
9. Children
Our store is for businesses and adults. It isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you’ve already given us, we’ll tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
